GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The 27th annual Kappa Sigma See-Saw-A-Thon to raise money for the Military Heroes Campaign begins at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 31, and will continue for 72 consecutive hours until 1 p.m. Sunday, April 3 on the lawn near the intersection of routes 18 and 58 in front of Thiel College’s Howard Miller Student Center.
For 27 years, the Xi Epsilon chapter of Kappa Sigma has been fundraising thousands of dollars riding the 25-foot-long metal see-saw during the yearly event. They will be collecting money at the intersection for the Military Heroes Campaign. Students and members of the Thiel College community are welcome to ride the see-saw during the three-day event.
Kappa Sigma created the Military Heroes Campaign in 2007. The campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception, the campaign has donated over $1 million to non-profit organizations that advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat.
Thiel College is a Yellow Ribbon institution and was recently recognized with a Silver Military Friendly® Award. The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistances Act of 2008.
