GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Thiel College Tomcat cheer squad opens competition at the National Cheerleading Association College Nationals at 8:20 a.m. Thursday.
In preparation for this weekend’s competition, the cheer team competed recently at Gannon University for their Road To Daytona Showcase. Eleven teams performed and the Tomcats received the highest score of the day with a 93.86 and taking first place in their division. The Tomcats debuted their NCA nationals routine for the first time and received multiple perfect scores in score sheet categories.
Cheer and dance coach Randall Burnett M.A.’22 is excited to have his team serving as ambassadors and representing Thiel College on a national level. When Burnett took over the program in 2018, there were seven members of the cheer squad. The squad has tripled since then with 21 team members.
