Thiel College alumnus Mark Marmo ’93 to be recognized at Saturday’s football game

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Deep Well Services Chief Executive Officer and member of the Thiel College Board of Trustees Mark Marmo ’93 will be the Game Day Honoree during Saturday’s final home football game of the 2018 season.

Thiel hosts Bethany at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Alumni Stadium.

Marmo has worked with College officials as Thiel has established its new Environmental Safety Management program. The new program is the only one in Pennsylvania with environmental science as its focus. The College celebrated the program launch on Oct. 18. Marmo was joined for a panel discussion during the program launch by fellow graduates Deborah Weible ’84 and John Thigpen ’86. Students will begin taking courses in the program during the spring 2019 semester.

Members of the Deep Well Services team are expected to join Marmo. Zelienople, Pa.-based Deep Well Services has been honored as one of Pittsburgh’s fastest-growing company in the Environmental/Engineering/Energy category by the Pittsburgh Business Times.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Mark’s commitment to the College,” Vice President of College Advancement Roberta Leonard said. “Mark is an example of the lasting connection our graduates make with the College. The members of our 15,000-plus person alumni network maintain lifelong associations and that makes Thiel College a special place.”

The Game Day Honoree program recognizes at halftime of each home football game members of the Thiel College community and the region for their contributions.
