Student recital and spring concert highlight musical events near end of semester

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Thiel College Spring Semester Student Recital and Handbell Concert will be held April 26 at the David Johnson Memorial Chapel. In addition, the Thiel Choir will host its final spring concert of the year on May 1. Both productions are free and open to the public.

The student recital and handbell concert starts at 7:30 p.m. April 26. Private voice, piano and instrumental students will perform works they have been developing during the spring semester. In addition, the Thiel College Handbell Ringers, a four-octave Schulmerich English handbell ensemble will, perform five pieces throughout the program.

The Thiel Choir concert starts at 3:30 p.m. May 1 in the David Johnson Memorial Chapel.

The Choir then leaves for its tour of Ireland on May 9—the day after Commencement. Students, alumni and faculty are traveling to Ireland as part of the 150th anniversary celebration that commemorates the founding of Thiel College in 1866. The Choir will perform concerts at several venues as part of the American celebration of music in Ireland.
