Instructor of Music collaborates with jazz vocalist on Christmas album

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College Director of Bands and Instructor of Music Andrew Erb recently collaborated with contemporary Christian recording artist, Jordan Biel and his band, Sound of Fusion, on a new Christmas album titled “Have Yourself a Jazzy Little Christmas.”

Erb is featured on two tracks in the album, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “Silent Night.” The songs featuring Erb along with the entire recording are available through Spotify and iTunes.

Earlier this year, Erb also worked with Allegheny College Professor of Music Jennifer Dearden, D.M.A., and Westminster College Professor of Music Timothy Winfield, D.M.A., as part Northwest Passage Trumpet Trio.  The trio recorded a CD, which should be available sometime in 2018. The group’s music will be available for purchase locally and regionally through any of the trio members and at several locations to be determined, and worldwide on iTunes and other digital media outlets.

Erb holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Westminster College and a Master of Music in trumpet performance from Youngstown State University. He is completing doctoral work in music education through Boston University. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, International Trumpet Guild, and a Phi Beta Mu Bandmasters inductee. Erb lives in West Middlesex, Pa., with his wife, Diana, and two sons, Jonathan and Benjamin.

About Thiel College
