GREENVILLE, Pa.—Antonio Quarterman, Ed.D. ’08 is serving his first three-year appointment on the Thiel College Board of Trustees.
Quarterman is the Director of the Institute for Professional and Continuing Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
He graduated from Thiel College with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2008. He received his Master of Science in Education in student affairs leadership and counseling from Youngstown State University, and his Education Doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pittsburgh.
His areas of expertise include higher education management, student affairs and strategic planning and research. Quarterman was given the Young Alumni Award at Homecoming 2018. The award is given to graduates for their achievements and their potential for future accomplishments in their profession and service to Thiel. While a student, he played football. He was second-team all- Presidents’ Athletic Conference in 2007 and was on the conference’s academic honor roll for three consecutive seasons. He also ran track and field, served as class president and president of the Organization of Black Collegiates. Quarterman was a member of the College’s political science honorary society and Les Lauriers service honorary. He was an active member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors for more than seven years, serving as president for two years.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the oversight of Thiel College. The Board adopts rules, regulations and policies governing Thiel College and has authority over curricular development, use of property, development of facilities and fiscal and human resources management. The Board of Trustees meets formally three times a year on campus.
