GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Nicole Olshanski, D.N.P. was recently named the new program director of Thiel College’s Bachelor of Science in nursing program.
Olshanski has more than 20 years of experience in the field of nursing and education, working at large institutions in and around Pittsburgh, including Duquesne University, Robert Morris University and the University of Pittsburgh. She was most recently at Youngstown State University, where she served as a tenured Associate Professor in the Centofanti School of Nursing.
Olshanski received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Butler Community College in 1997. She went on to study at Slippery Rock University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1999. Following this, Olshanski went to graduate school to attain her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Waynesburg University in 2010, and earned her post-master’s certificate in midwifery from Shenandoah University in 2016.
“I am honored to join Thiel College as the director of the nursing program where I will leverage over 20 years’ experience in the field of nursing and education to grow the program,” Olshanski said. “I look forward to leading the program through the accreditation process, working with our students, and engaging the Nursing Program in the community.”
The nursing program at Thiel College is a collaborative program along with Sharon Regional Medical Center-Sharon Regional School of Nursing to graduate students with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Students in the program are admitted to both Thiel College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and Sharon Regional’s Registered Nurse program. This partnership ensures students can get both state-of-the-art scientific training and the benefits of a liberal arts education.
