GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College’s biggest fundraising event of the year, Match Day: Match to the Future, will take place on Tuesday, March 4, with a full day of philanthropic challenges, spirited competitions, and community celebration.
The day kicks off with Opening Ceremonies at 9 a.m. in the Rissell-Schreyer Dome, setting the stage for a high-energy event designed to inspire alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the College to come together in support of Thiel’s mission. Throughout the day, participants will engage in donor challenges and campus-based events and competitions, making this year’s event an exciting way to give back. Giving will go throughout the full 24 hours as donors from around the country and the world participate in the event. As special donor challenges are met fun videos featuring members of the campus community will be unlocked as a celebration of those achievements.
“Match Day is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of the generosity and commitment of our entire Thiel community,” said Director of the Thiel Fund David Mogle. “We are excited to see how our alumni, students, and friends will rally together to make an impact. Whether through friendly competition or supporting match challenges, every gift counts and helps shape the future of Thiel College.”
Each year, fraternities, sororities, athletic teams, and student organizations compete for top honors in donor participation, fueling good-natured rivalries that amplify the impact of Match Day. Last year, the event set records with 670 donors contributing $280,172, and this year’s goal is to build on that success. Special match challenges will provide opportunities for donors to maximize their contributions, ensuring gifts go even further in supporting student scholarships, academic programs, athletics, and campus improvements.
“This is a day where everyone can make a difference,” Mogle said. “Whether you’re a first-time donor or a long-time supporter, every contribution helps us continue to provide students with valuable experiences both in and out of the classroom. We encourage everyone to participate, have fun, and be part of something bigger than themselves.”
Since its launch in 2014, Match Day has raised over $1.9 million for the Thiel Fund, which serves as the College’s largest source of unrestricted financial support. The event provides crucial funding for scholarships, academic initiatives, student activities, and unexpected campus needs, ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education.
