GREENVILLE, Pa.-- For the second straight year, Thiel College's one-day giving campaign was a record-breaking affair. This year's total shattered the previous one-day giving record by collecting $62,346, a 36 percent jump from 2014's inaugural event.
During Thiel’s 2:1 Match Day Challenge on May 21, alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students rallied in just 24 hours to raise that record-breaking total and demonstrate their belief in the Thiel Commitment.
Gifts made online, by phone and by mail were solicited through an integrated social media campaign. This generosity made Thiel College history for most contributions made in a single day. Each donation was doubled due to the generous sponsorship of anonymous alumni and all gifts to The Thiel Fund were double matched.
Last year’s one-day giving campaign generated $45,820.
“This is an extraordinary example of alumni coming together to make a big impact. We’re very grateful for their support,” Thiel College President Troy D. VanAken, Ph.D., said. “I am humbled by this record-breaking show of generosity. Every gift, even the smallest ones, is vital for Thiel College and its mission to provide both a life-enriching liberal arts education and career-enhancing professional preparation.”
Gifts to The Thiel Fund support the areas of academics, athletics, scholarship, and the greatest needs of Thiel College. To learn more, contact Leta Jeffers, Director of The Thiel Fund, at 724-589-FUND (3863) or thielfund@thiel.edu.
