GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College will celebrate the seventh annual opening of the Rissell-Schreyer Dome from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 with activities for the local community. The event is free and open to the public, but some attractions require the purchase of tickets.
The family-friendly celebration will feature a variety of novelties, inflatables and activities. Food will be available for purchase, and children five years old and under eat for free.
“The Dome Opener is always a fun celebration for Thiel College and all members of the community,” Director of Student Activities and Involvement Than Oo said. “This year, we are featuring some of our favorite activities from past events, as well as introducing some new and exciting novelties.”
The event will include a cornhole tournament, a photo booth, a bungee trampoline and “Blitz Ball” (a cross between paintball and dodgeball played with foam projectiles.)
The Rissell-Schreyer Dome is open for community access during the winter and spring months. Dome access is free for community members wishing to use the facility to walk. Access for walkers is Monday through Friday, from 8-11 a.m. The Dome is closed during all school breaks. A golf driving range will be available in the Dome beginning in early January and will be open from 8-11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
For the safety of community members and Thiel College’s student-athletes, the Dome is closed to the public during varsity athletic practices.
