Burnett named Thiel College Cheer and Dance coach

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Director of Athletics Amy Schafer announced recently the hiring of Randall Burnett as the head cheer and dance coach at Thiel College.

Burnett spent the past year at X-Cel Gymnastics in Cranberry Township, Pa., where he served in multiple roles, including: developmental team coach, advanced boys team coach and recreational and preschool coach.

A former member of the Thiel College cheer and dance teams, Burnett is eager to return to Greenville.

"I would like to thank Amy Schafer for giving me this opportunity," Burnett said. "I'm looking forward to building the cheer and dance programs and supporting Thiel College's student-athletes both academically and athletically."

Burnett spent three years as a head instructor for Elite Cheerleading Association where he facilitated and instructed camps with more than 1,000 attendees from various regions of the country.

Burnett earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Clarion University in 2012. During his time at Clarion University, Burnett was a member of the Golden Eagles cheer team and completed an internship focused on compliance with the university's athletic department.
