GREENVILLE, Pa.—The Thiel College Department of Art is collaborating with the Sans MOCO Gallery & Atelier in Greenville, Pa., to put on a student/alumni art show from April 8 to May 12. An opening reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. April 8, on the second floor of the Fresh Grounds Coffeehouse & Café.
“The members of Thiel's art department are excited about this collaborative effort with Sans MOCO,” Associate Professor of Art History and Department Chair Ellen Lippert, Ph.D., said. “This exhibit, featuring student and alumni work, is an effort to bring the talents of our students into the community and to forge deeper connection with the people and places of Greenville.”
A collaboration between the art department and local businesses in Greenville, this semester’s art exposition will feature both student and alumni work. The expo will be held at the Sans MOCO Gallery & Atelier with viewing hours on Wednesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. or by appointment.
The Sans MOCO Gallery & Atelier opened in 2014 with a mission to build relationships through a common passion for the arts. “Art as a refuge for the creative mind of all ages” is part of the theme of Sans MOCO, which they say has a goal of developing inter-generational relationships—“allowing a distinct blending of the passion and imagination of youth with the maturity and perspective of extensive years.” Sans MOCO also holds art courses, open studios for the public on Sundays and workshops.
The Thiel College Department of Art also holds monthly art expositions in the College’s Weyers-Sampson Gallery that regularly host exhibitions from professional artists and student work.
