Matthew Schneider ’13

HPI t notes

September 26, 2019

The Health Professions Institute’s weekly presentation featured Matthew Schneider ’13 on Sept. 26.

“The one thing Matthew Schneider mentioned in his presentation, that I have heard a lot of is Networking.  I heard the topic numerous times and I have tried to network as many people as I can that are alums or just anyone connected with Thiel.  Since being a volunteer with Heritage Hospice, I got to network with two LECOM alumni and an alum from Thiel, who has a Ph.D. in physiology. Just recently, I got to network with a professor at Duke University and the Associate Dean and Director of Office of Career Development at University of Pittsburgh; both alumni of Thiel.  I reached out to the professor at Duke about internships and he actually sent me the links to a few that I might have an interest in.”—Katrina Deckinger ’22

“Matthew Schneider’s presentation truly resonated with me because I am interested in both neuroscience and psychology. I am currently a health systems major and I have the hopes of also completing a psychology minor. Matthew Schneider’s experiences at Thiel College remind me of my current experiences because he was also involved on campus. Overall, Matthew Schneider’s presentation motivated me to demonstrate hard work and to not become defeated if I experience failure.”—Jacqueline Galford ’21
