The Scholarship and Arts Symposium at Thiel College originated from a college-wide Research Symposium first held in 2014. This annual event celebrates research and scholarship, showcasing academic research and artwork from students across all majors. The symposium features a keynote address by a faculty member, offering insight into their scholarly work and research beyond their teaching responsibilities at Thiel. On this day, no classes are scheduled to honor student scholarship and research.
The Symposium includes multimedia presentations, oral presentations, digital posters, and Dietrich Honors Institute thesis presentations. Students will share their research on diverse topics, from sports and mental health to rodent brain studies. Additionally, the Weyers-Sampson Gallery in the Howard Miller Student Center will host a student art show throughout the day.
The event will conclude with the presentation of the Library Research and Writing Awards.
