    About Business Administration – Human Resources Management

    When it comes to careers in human resources, there are numerous options that only increase as you gain more education and on-the-job experience. Thiel’s Human Resources Management program offers opportunities for students to acquire an understanding of, and skills in, developing and implementing human resources systems including recruitment, selection, evaluation, training, motivation, and compensation.

    Earning a bachelor’s degree in human resources can be a good first step to building a career in a growing people-focused field. Thiel’s Human Resources Management major through the Arthur McGonigal Department of Business Administration and Accounting is a great first step to unlocking your human resources career potential.

    Human Resources Management Major Objectives

    At Thiel College, the bachelor’s degree courses in Human Resources Management prepare students to:

    1. Effectively manage and plan key human resource functions within organizations.
    2. Examine current issues, trends, practices, and processes.
    3. Contribute to employee performance management and organizational effectiveness.
    4. Problem-solve human resource challenges.
    5. Gain experience in resolving ethical dilemmas faced by human resources managers.

    Human Resources Management Curriculum

    Since human resources is broad and an important component of any organization, you’ll find many pathways to choose from, focusing on particular areas such as recruiting, workforce development training or compensation and benefits administration. A degree in human resources can help you explore these topics as well as HR fundamentals. This program includes courses in employment law, interpersonal communication, payroll accounting and risk management and insurance. Students are encouraged to complete at least one internship and have will have multiple networking opportunities with business alumni prior to graduation.
