Thiel Players bringing interactive ‘The Awesome 80s Prom’ to Beeghly Gymnasium

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Thiel Players will be performing the interactive, off-Broadway hit “The Awesome 80s Prom” at the Beeghly Gymnasium beginning Friday.

Attendees will be transported back to 1989, where big hair and shoulder pads ruled the dance floor.

“The Awesome 80s Prom” is a one-of-a-kind interactive theater experience that invites the audience to become a part of the show. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best 80s fashion, vote for their favorite prom king and queen, and dance the night away to the greatest hits of the decade. The Beeghly Gymnasium will be transformed into a vibrant 1980s high school prom setting, offering a nostalgic trip back to a beloved era.

Performances are Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 and the following weekend Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and performance begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at www.thiel.edu/tickets. Tickets cost $10 online and $12 at the door.

The Thiel Players present two major productions each year and have been providing theater entertainment to the campus and community for more than five decades. All Thiel students are eligible to join and members of the community may also audition for roles in campus productions.
