GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College’s student-run radio station WXTC 88.1 FM recently completed its 10th 24-hour broadcast to raise money and awareness in the fight against lupus.

The broadcast featured student-run programming throughout the 24-hour event held during Homecoming, with listeners encouraged to make donations benefiting the Lupus Foundation of America.

Across the 10 broadcasts, WXTC has raised approximately $5,750 to support lupus research and awareness. Another broadcast is scheduled in the spring of 2027.

“The 24-hour broadcast gives our students an opportunity to put what they are learning into practice while using the station to support an important cause,” Assistant Professor of Communication Matthew Humphrey said. “Reaching 10 broadcasts and raising nearly $6,000 along the way speaks to the commitment our students have shown to this effort.”

Listeners in the Greenville area can tune in to WXTC at 88.1 FM. The station’s programming is also available online at wxtcradio.com.
