Some of their roles include assisting in teaching an introductory course, aiding their fellow students in creating a class schedule for the spring semester, serving as a liaison with faculty members, and informing students of and encouraging them to go to events.

The program is in its fourth year.

“Every year our peer mentors play a central role in helping first-year students transition to life at college, but this year more than most, the mentors are an important friendly face for new students,” Associate Academic Dean for Student Success Greg Q. Butcher, Ph.D. said.
