Tomorrow (Wednesday, February 14) begins the time of Lent, a period of 40 days of fasting and prayer leading up to the Christian holiday of Easter. Many churches traditionally hold services where ashes, a sign of mortality and repentance, are imposed in the shape of a cross on the forehead. Distribution of ashes will take place on Thiel’s campus during the following times and locations.

• 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. HMSC, Bistro Father Brandon, St. Michael Catholic Church
• 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. HMSC, Bistro Rev., Dr. George Branch-Trevathan

Local churches will also be offering Ash Wednesday services, including Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (1 Trinity Place, Greenville, PA) at both Noon and 7:00 p.m.
