    About the Religion Minor

    The religion minor acquaints students with the world’s major religious traditions and helps students develop a critical understanding of the issues involved in the academic study of religion. Students can explore a variety of religions and issues confronting religion in today’s world, studying the texts, customs, myths, and rituals of numerous religious traditions.

    Religion Minor Objectives

    The program provides foundational knowledge to help you gain a level of competency in biblical literature, Christian traditions, and many other religious traditions.

    • Apply practical theology methodologies in ministry contexts.
    • Develop a healthy awareness of oneself, gifts, and/or callings.
    • Demonstrate competence related to skills required for Christian leadership.
    • Develop effective communication in oral and written forms in the field.
    • Cultivate interpersonal skills and learn to be a valuable member of a team.
    • Network with distinguished religion alumni.
