About the Religion Certificate
The Certificate in Religion will provide an intermediate level understanding of religion and religions to nonmajors and non-minors. It may be pursued to complement the student’s major and/or to demonstrate and receive recognition for proficiency in the discipline.
The certificate offers foundational knowledge in Jewish and Christian Scriptures, the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, Christianity, and world religions. Through the program, students will:
- Write clearly and effectively in a variety of forms.
- Demonstrate the ability to read critically, research effectively, and document sources ethically.
- Adapt creativity, critical thinking, and speaking skills to confidently communicate in professional environments.
