“One of my favorite graduate school memories was working in the speech clinic and field placements. The hands-on experience with all ages was invaluable and helped prepare me for where I am today”

    Katelyn (Oyler) Herback M.S.’21

“During my clinical fellowship … I had a young client say their first word during a session. Moments like those really put into perspective just how important the work is that we are doing.”

    Jordan (McCoy) Lehocky ’19 M.S.’21

“Thiel’s program and my time there are so special. I joined the program as a non-traditional student. I was 26 years old, had a 5-year-old son, and about halfway through pursuing my master’s degree, life threw a curveball, and I was diagnosed with blood cancer. The professors, staff members, and my cohort at Thiel were nothing short of amazing throughout that uncertain time in life. For a while, I wasn't sure if I would be able to finish my clinical rotations and the workload that is required of a graduate student while I underwent multiple surgeries, week-long hospital stays, chemotherapy, and also tried to focus on my family. Nonetheless, every professor showed me reassurance, and my classmates showered me in kindness and support as I continued to work toward the finish line. Fortunately, I made it and was able to graduate with the rest of my cohort right on time! I also got amazing news shortly after graduation that I was cancer-free and was officially in remission. (Today) I am working at Thrive Therapy Works (a small SLP-owned company), as an evaluating clinician for a public virtual charter school, called Georgia Cyber Academy. I currently hold the role as an evaluator/diagnostician and help train the new SLPs joining the GCA team that are hired through Thrive Therapy Works.”

    Nicole Plassio M.S.’21

“My favorite memories from my SLP program at Thiel College were treating clients at our on-site clinic. Those clients were some of my very first, and I grew such a close connection with them, while supported by my graduate professors and classmates.”

    Alyson Holt M.S.’24
    Butler, PA

“I am incredibly grateful for Thiel College's Speech-Language Pathology Master's program. It's been a wonderful journey thus far, providing me with vital knowledge from caring professors, introducing me to lifelong friends, and fueling my drive to empower others through effective communication. It has truly helped me become excited about my future career!”

    Felix Daniel Hernandez M.S.’23
    Lewisburg, PA

“The best part of Thiel College is week two and three, you start going into therapy sessions with you protentional clients and professors and develop a plan or plan of care and what you are going to be doing with those clients.”

    Myah McAlister – SLP ‘25
    Morgantown, WV

“I chose Thiel College because I believed I would be cared for and looked after by the staff within my program in regard to academics, given the college’s smaller size. Now that I am here, I can say confidently that my expectations have been fulfilled, and I have received attentive support and guidance! My favorite part about Thiel College are the opportunities that are presented to me. Whether these are through my graduate program or through the college itself, I feel as though there is always something to chose, to enhance my time, whether academic or personal. I also love the friends that I have made!”
