Environmental chemistry offers an opportunity for students of any background interested in environmental sciences to better understand the chemistry of the environment.
Students completing the minor in environmental chemistry have an opportunity to learn about the chemical processes of natural systems and environmental pollutants, while earning a credential that highlights their interest and expertise. This can be a useful course of study whether their primary degree and career will be in one of the traditional chemical or environmental programs, or another allied field.
