Anthony Kos, Ph.D. is the Chair of the Arthur McGonigal Department of Business Administration and Accounting. He is also the director of the College’s second graduate degree program—a Master of Business Administration.

Kos can tell students about profits, losses, balance sheets but he can also tell you about Brazilian barbecue restaurants.

Kos has a mix of professional and academic experience. He got an opportunity to teach while he was doing graduate work at Youngstown State University. The best part of that experience was the chance to work with students and share the knowledge he had acquired.

Kos held many positions in his 32-year career in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University before coming to Thiel. Among the positions he held were: Special Assistant to the Dean, two stints as M.B.A. Director, and he earned the rank of Professor in the Management Department. In addition, Kos taught internationally in the M.B.A. program at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

It was while he was there, that he became familiar with the Brazilian churrasqueira.

Kos and his family enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time together.

Kos received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University. He earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Management at Kent State University in the area of macro-organizational theory (strategic management). Tony and his wife, Lisa (Swartz) Kos, have two children, Hunter and Lauren. They reside in Transfer, Pa.
