Application Instructions

TWO WAYS TO APPLY ONLINE
You may choose to use our online application by following the directions and links below or you may choose to use the Common Application by clicking on the logo or the link. The application fee is waived for either online application.

Common Application

THIEL ONLINE APPLICATION
Complete the online Application for Admission. When you press the "Submit Application" button, your completed application will be forwarded to the Thiel College Office of Admissions. A copy of the information you provided will be forwarded to your email address. Please note the information in the Security section.

HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS
Complete the form requesting that your High School Principal or Guidance Counselor send an official copy of your high school work directly to Thiel College. Once you have completed the Request Form, you can print the form, and mail or deliver it to your high school.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
If students apply online at www.thiel.edu the application fee will be waived. After submitting a completed application, the student should request in writing that his or her high school send an official copy of his or her transcript directly to the Thiel College Admissions Office. Transfer students must also submit transcripts from every post-secondary institution attended. To do so, students can request the records office of their former institutions send official transcripts to Thiel College. Also, a Dean's Evaluation Form* is required. Students who are not in good academic standing at their previous institutions may not be admitted unless reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

When the transfer applicant is admitted to the College, an evaluation of transfer credit is made by the Registrar at Thiel College. After credentials are examined, the transferring student is notified of all credits accepted on a full or provisional basis. All claims for credit must be indicated at the time of admission. Not more than 64 credits will be accepted from two-year colleges.

Credit may be given for evidence of formal educational experiences completing preparation for career, life experience, by examination and/or courses taken while in the armed forces.

In order to be eligible for graduation from Thiel College, a student must earn the final 30 credits at Thiel College.

APPLICATION FEE
The application fee has been waived for on line applicants.

TESTS
The SAT or the ACT is required. Test scores are also used for further placement and advising. Transfer applicants with more than 12 semester hours of college credit need not present scores from either test.

LETTER OR RECOMMENDATION
Please have a guidance counselor, teacher, pastor, or someone with the ability to describe your work ethic and academic performance write a letter of reference on your behalf. Use the provided letter of reference form.

PERSONAL ESSAY
Please select a topic and write a 500 word essay.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
The Admissions Committee reviews student applications each week after receipt of the above items, and students are then notified of the decision. Decisions are made on a rolling basis. This means that, when all the required documentation is complete and has been received by Thiel College, you will be notified of the Admissions Committee decision within two weeks.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID
If you wish to apply for one of Thiel's many scholarships, grants, or aid based on need, check the box on the final screen of the application. Applicants for financial aid must also file a copy of the FAFSA form, available from your high school counselor, or from Thiel College upon request. The completed form should be mailed directly to the address listed on the form. Transfer students requesting aid based on need must also submit an official financial aid transcript from each institution previously attended.

The information you provide in this form will be sent encrypted over our secure server. If you are not comfortable providing the information requested over the Internet, please print out the Application in its entirety and mail it to the College at the following address:
