Students, faculty and staff gathered Wednesday to put up the Rissell-Schreyer Dome. The Dome will be up throughout the winter.
Founders Day in February will be an opportunity to recognize outstanding faculty and staff for their accomplishments and service to the College. The faculty leadership has solicited nominations for faculty awards, and President Susan Traverso, Ph.D. is accepting nominations for the Presidential Staff Awards. Faculty and staff across campus are vital to the success of the College.
The Presidential Staff Award Review Committee, made up of past recipients, evaluates the nominees and will formalize recommendations to the President. Since these are Presidential awards to staff, the President will make the final selection of each awardee.
Please consider nominating staff colleagues for their outstanding service and commitment to Thiel.
Nominations of new and more experienced staff members are welcomed. Both faculty and staff can nominate staff for recognition.
Employees should check their email for the nomination form. Nominations can be sent to Amy Taczanowsky.
To provide ample time to review the nominations and prepare for the Founders Day celebration, the deadline for nominations is Friday, December 3, 2021.
The holiday closing schedule will include two additional paid days off.
The Thanksgiving holiday break will begin at noon on Wednesday, November 24 with the campus reopening on Monday, November 29.
The last working day on campus before the Christmas holiday break will be Wednesday, December 22, with the campus closing at noon that day. This will provide 7 ½ days (holidays and paid days off). The campus will reopen on Monday, January 3.
A health professional from Walberg Family Pharmacies will be on campus from 2–3 p.m. in the Sawhill Georgian Room of the Howard Miller Student Center for a small COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
No appointment is needed for interested students, faculty and staff to receive a first dose or a booster of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.
An official form of photo ID, and a vaccination card, if applicable is required.

Communications collateral
Employees should update the logos used on institutional materials, including email signatures, letterhead, PowerPoint slides, etc.
Thiel College has used the shield and wordmark combination as the official institutional logo for more than a year. They are the only approved logo for academic co-curricular and institutional use. Additional athletic logo packages are also available.
Email signatures, brand resources, and a job request form are all available online. A Dropbox folder has been set up with instructions and the materials necessary to create new email signatures. Employees can find other Thiel College-branded resources including letterhead, logos and PowerPoint slides in the same folder.
Thiel College community members who need help with communications and marketing initiatives and collateral can now request those services with a job form. The request form is available on the communications and marketing webpage or linked directly below.
For more information, email the office.
