The Office of Admission at Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, has created one of the largest groups of student employees in one department with its new Thiel Team.

New Campus Store online and on-campus open

Thiel College is happy to announce that the new online store is now open for business. We hope that you will enjoy the larger/more diverse selection, name brand apparel, larger range of sizes and more of just about everything.

But wait! There’s more! Over the summer, in the campus store, we have been inventorying merchandise, moving some fixtures and getting new merchandise out just in time to re-open Move-in Weekend. Fall store hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday and select hours during events and admissions days. Be sure to drop in and say, ‘Hi!’ to the new student workers.

New in the campus store are gift ideas from local craftsmen and artisans, as well as products from some of our entrepreneurial alumni.

Don’t forget employees are eligible for a 15% campus store discount on gift and apparel items (snack food, stationery and sundries excluded).

Excel students tour Roth Hall; meet with President Traverso

First-year students arrived Monday and began taking class as part of the Excel Opportunity Program. It is designed to provide students with a three-credit hour course that familiarizes them with campus resources with an emphasis on resource utilization. Thirty-two members of the Class of 2022 opted into the program. During their three-week course, students will be connected to campus resources. On Tuesday, the students met with President Susan Traverso, Ph.D., as they toured Roth Hall. 

Office of Communications and Marketing job request form is live

Thiel College community members who need help with communications and marketing initiatives and collateral can now request those services with a job form. The request form is available on the communications and marketing webpage or linked directly below.

Also, a reminder that a Dropbox folder with Thiel College-branded resources including letterhead, logos and PowerPoint slides is available.

Student continuing progress of GNC research project

Thiel College student researcher Tina Davison ’21 is conducting research into Listeria monocytogenes and the immune system defense against the pathogen. Her research is the continuation of a Greenville Neuromodulation Center Faculty/Student Research Institute project that started in 2015 and is being mentored by the Institute’s Director and Assistant Professor of Biology Delbert Abi Abdallah, Ph.D.

Tomcat Tributes recognize the teamwork Thiel College employees exhibit each day. Employees can nominate co-workers for recognition in four categories (Random Act of Kindness, Going the Extra Mile, Had a Great Idea, Just Because).

Understanding Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease

Join the St. Paul’s community for a session explaining memory impairment. Event themes will be what the differences are between dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, what physical changes are happening to a person with memory impairment and how to best understand and be understood by the person living with a dementia-related disease.
