GREENVILLE, Pa.—WXTC Radio, Thiel College’s student-run radio station, recently staged a 24-hour broadcast during Homecoming weekend that successfully raised cash through online donations that exceeded their goal for the Lupus Foundation of America.
WXTC continues to collect money for the Lupus Foundation of America by hosting a 24-hour broadcast each semester. This is the sixth semester that WXTC has done a broadcast, and it is the most noteworthy since it raised the most money since its inception.
“I want to thank all our generous donors that helped to support us during our 24-hour broadcast to benefit the Lupus Foundation of America,” WXTC Radio Manager and Chief Operator Jacob Clark ’20 said.
This semester, WXTC Radio set a $500 target and raised $617 through cash and online donations.
“On behalf of everyone here at WXTC I would like to give one final big thank you to everyone who donated during the 24-hour broadcast which is done in order to fundraise for the Lupus Foundation of America. It’s our highest-achieving fundraiser for close to the past four years,” said Christina Newman ’25.
