GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College’s Kappa Sigma fraternity is hosting its third annual memorial stair walk at noon Sunday, Sept. 11 at Greenville’s Plimpton Graul Amphitheater in Riverside Park.

The symbolic walk will commemorate the first responders who perished in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Along with their friends and families, Kappa Sigma has also invited first responders from the surrounding areas to participate in the event. There will also be a minute’s silence for people to pay their respects to those who lost their lives in the tragic attack.

“It is important that we continue to honor the first responders who lost their lives in the devastating attacks twenty-one years ago,” Kappa Sigma President Isaac Evans ’23 said. “We hope that by continuing to host this annual event we can support and raise awareness of our philanthropy, Military Heroes.”

Kappa Sigma created the Military Heroes Campaign in 2007. The campaign serves as their philanthropy. The campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception, the campaign has donated over $1 million to non-profit organizations that advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat.

The stair walk event is open to the public.
