GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College will celebrate the graduates of its Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program during commencement exercises at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 30, in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center.

The ceremony also marks the fifth anniversary of the College’s first Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology cohort, recognizing the continued growth of a graduate program that has prepared speech-language pathologists to serve schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other healthcare settings since welcoming its inaugural class in 2020.

Graduate robing will begin at 3 p.m. in the David Johnson Memorial Chapel. Graduates will then participate in the traditional Brother Martin’s Walk procession to the Howard Miller Student Center before the commencement ceremony begins at 4 p.m. A reception for graduates, families and guests will follow in the Tomcat Bistro.

“This commencement celebrates not only the accomplishments of our newest graduates, but also six years of a program that has prepared compassionate, highly skilled speech-language pathologists to serve their communities,” said Speech-Language Pathology Program Director Amy Tepper, Ed.D. “It has been a privilege to work alongside these students as they completed this important step in their professional journey, and we look forward to seeing the difference they will make in schools, healthcare settings and communities across the country.”

The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program combines rigorous academic coursework with extensive clinical education, preparing graduates to evaluate, diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. Students complete classroom instruction alongside supervised clinical experiences that equip them for careers in schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private practice and other healthcare settings. Graduates will also be recognized for the Dr. Sonya Wilt Outstanding Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Student Award and the Dr. Nancy Antonino Outstanding Graduate Clinician Award.

The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program at Thiel College is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
