GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College has appointed David Myron its new vice president for finance and administration, President Susan Traverso, Ph.D. announced today.
Myron was selected following a national search and brings extensive experience in higher education finance, regional economic development and public accounting.
“David brings a proven record of strategic financial leadership and collaboration,” Traverso said. “His experience and approach will be invaluable as we continue to advance the College and steward its resources responsibly.”
Most recently, Myron served as vice president for business and finance at Illinois Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the president’s cabinet and oversaw all business and administrative operations. His work included strengthening the institution’s financial position, refining the budget process to encourage broader campus engagement, advancing a comprehensive facilities master plan, and supporting enrollment growth initiatives.

Previously, Myron was vice president for finance and administration at Mercyhurst University, where he guided the institution from a multimillion-dollar deficit to profitability, managed major capital projects, refinanced institutional debt, and strengthened operational efficiency across divisions. He also served as vice president for finance at Seton Hill University, overseeing financial operations during a period of campus expansion and new construction.
Before entering higher education leadership, Myron was vice president of finance and treasurer for the Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the largest economic development organization in Pennsylvania, and a senior manager in the Pittsburgh office of KPMG, where he specialized in audits and advisory services for colleges, universities and senior living organizations.
Originally from the Pittsburgh region, he is a certified public accountant and chartered global management accountant. Myron holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and English from St. Francis University.
