GREENVILLE, Pa.—The Thiel College Office of Admission has named Evan Cessna ’25 and Emma Deitz ’24 its Thiel Team Members of the Month for October.
Cessna is from Kittanning, Pa. and is a 2021 West Shamokin High School graduate.
His admissions office staff members describe Cessna as “a reliable member of the admissions team, who completes a task before being asked to do so and steps up during times when extra help is needed. In addition, the admissions staff continuously receives great reviews from families, faculty, and alumni whenever he gives campus tours. Cessna demonstrates commitment, a great work ethic, and is a valued Thiel student representative.”
The junior is a neuroscience and health systems double major with a minor in psychology. He is president of the Neuroscience Club, secretary for the Student Government Association and a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, the tennis team, Nu Rho Psi neuroscience honors society and Lambda Sigma sophomore honor society.
He said his favorite thing about Thiel College, “is how close the community is and how many great connections you can make while here.”
Deitz is from Erie, Pa. and is a 2020 McDowell High School graduate.
Admissions staff members said Deitz “handles front desk inquiries and engages with families in a professional and friendly manner and is pro-active with handling tasks during very busy times. She has volunteered to help with giving unplanned tours on multiple occasions during this month, and the admissions staff appreciates and recognizes Emma’s commitment and work ethic as a Thiel student representative.”
The senior is a communication sciences and disorders major and psychology minor. She is president of Sigma Kappa sorority and a member of Dietrich Honors Institute, Sigma Tau Delta English honors society and The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association.
She said her favorite thing about Thiel is, “the incredible and supportive people I have met.”
The Thiel Team comprises students employed by the Office of Admission. The students primarily serve as ambassadors for prospective students and their families, but they are also responsible for a variety of other jobs and including work on mailings, market research, telemarketing, event support, and other administrative, professional, and office duties.
