GREENVILLE, Pa.—Historian and Thiel College graduate Hans Myers ’19 was profiled in a recent article in the Greenville Record-Argus regarding his recent collaborations with renowned Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, who perished in the Titan submersible tragedy on June 18.

Myers worked with Nargeolet, 77, a former French Navy officer who had made more than 35 dives to the Titanic, to ensure historical accuracy in the development of the educational video game “Titanic: Honor & Glory.”

Myers, who is working on his doctorate in history from Case Western Reserve University and wrote the book “The Lion of Round Top: The Life and Military Service of Brigadier General Strong Vincent in the American Civil War,” worked closely with Nargeolet to ensure the accuracy of the ship in the video game. He collaborated with Nargeolet, through emails and video conferences. Nargeolet shared insights and provided exclusive images of the Titanic.

On June 28, the Record-Argus featured an article highlighting Myers’ accomplishments and his journey as a historian. The article explores his fascination with the Titanic, which began at an early age after watching James Cameron’s film. Myers’ passion for history led him to pursue an undergraduate degree in history at Thiel, followed by a master’s degree at the University of Indianapolis.
