Future teacher, IT analyst awarded Student of the Month honors for April

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College announces Megan Lee ’19, of Venetia, Pa., and Danyelle Lucido ’19, of Grove City, Pa., are the final Student of the Month honorees for the spring 2019 semester. The pair earned the April honor for their academic achievements.

The Student of the Month is awarded to seniors. It is among the most prestigious student awards at Thiel College, with only about six students each semester earning the honor.

Lee is an early childhood/special education major. She is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, Order of Omega Greek leadership society, Chi Alpha Epsilon national honorary for academic achievement, and Les Lauriers scholarship, leadership and service honorary society. She is president of Kappa Delta Pi education honorary and leader of a regular campus Bible study.

On campus, she worked for the Office of Admission and was honored with the extraordinary effort award by the Thiel Learning Commons.

Lee, a 2015 graduate of Peters Township High School, is the daughter of Michael and Nancy Lee, of Venetia, Pa. After graduation she is traveling to Greece with a group from Thiel, and working at the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh for their extended school year program as an aide with special needs students. She is seeking a special education teaching position for the fall and planning to enroll in a master's program for special education.

Lucido, a 2015 graduate of Grove City Area High School, has a dual major in management information systems and business administration.

She has been a member of the Thiel women’s basketball team for four years, is vice president for Alpha Chi honor society, and a member of Chi Eta Sigma business honor society, Chi Alpha Sigma athletic honor society and Les Lauriers scholarship, leadership and service honorary society. She is also vice president for the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Student Athletic Advisory Committee.

Lucido is a student worker for the Thiel College Information Technology Solution Center and Sports Information Office and is a resident assistant on campus. She is a two-time recipient of the O.D. Anderson Bus & Tour Scholarhip and the 2019 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Sportsmanship Team Award.

Lucido leads a campus Bible study and volunteers for Akron Hope, a non-profit for underprivileged youth. She has secured full-time employment as an information technology infrastructure analyst for Highmark Health Solutions in Pittsburgh after graduation. She is the daughter of Frank and Barbara Lucido, of Grove City, Pa.
