Five students recognized for their efforts in the fall as ambassadors for Thiel College

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Katie Aaron ’24, of Lehighton, Pa.; Sofia Mullenix ’25, of Cumberland, Md.; and Seth Phillips ’25, of Hubbard, Ohio; as well as Jade Rhoads ’23 and Emily Irons ’24, both of Franklin, Pa. were recognized by the Office of Admission during the fall 2022 semester as Thiel Team Members of the Month for October due to their work as ambassadors for the College.

Aaron is an environmental science major and a member of the women’s lacrosse and soccer teams as well as Sigma Kappa sorority, Kappa Mu Epsilon mathematics honorary and environmental club.

She said Thiel is great because “we are such a small school so everyone is close and supports each other.”

Mullenix is a neuroscience and health systems major. She is a member of Active Minds and Art Club.

“My favorite thing about Thiel is the friends I have made,” she said.

Rhoads is pursuing majors in neuroscience and psychology along with an English certificate. She is a member of the Thiel cross country team, the softball team, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the Sigma Kappa sorority.

When asked what her favorite thing is about Thiel, Rhoads said, “How much the faculty at Thiel care about their students and will do anything to help them be successful.”

Irons is pursuing a major in early childhood/special education and a minor in English. She is involved in Active Minds, Alpha Chi, the Dietrich Honors Institute, Excel Opportunities, and the Order of Omega. She also serves on campus as an ENG 101 Liaison, Peer Mentor, Hodge Hall Resident Leader, Kappa Delta Pi Vice President, Editor of the Lectern, Editor of The Phoenix, Student Government Association Secretary, Writing Lab Consultant, and Zeta Tau Alpha Vice President.

“My favorite thing about Thiel is the people! I’ve met my best friends, mentors, and the most amazing people here,” said Irons. “All of them have impacted my career and life in the best way possible!”

Phillips is pursuing a major in environmental science and a minor in wildlife biology. He is on the Thiel football and wrestling teams.

Phillips said, “my favorite thing about Thiel is the welcoming atmosphere and the small size.”

The Thiel Team comprises students employed by the Office of Admission. The students primarily serve as ambassadors for prospective students and their families, but they are also responsible for a variety of other jobs and including work on mailings, market research, telemarketing, event support, and other administrative, professional, and office duties.
