Kramer, Wiegmann named Students of the Month for February

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College announces Tina Kramer ’17, of Butler, Pa., and Daniel Wiegmann ’17, of McMurray, Pa., as its February Students of the Month.

Kramer is a double major in psychology and English with a secondary education certification. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi national society of leadership and success, Pi Nu Epsilon national music honor society, Kappa Delta Pi international education honor society, Psi Chi international psychology honor society, Les Lauriers service honorary society, Lambda Sigma national honor society. She is vice president of Sigma Tau Delta international English honorary society and will serve as Alpha Chi president in the next academic year. She is co-editor-in-chief of the Thielensian student newspaper, is the vice president of the Thiel College Choir and is a part of the Thiel Student Support Network, Ultimate Frisbee Club and the English Club. She is a Thiel Presidential Scholar and is a five-time Dean’s List awardee.

After graduation, Kramer will pursue graduate studies in psychology and counseling. She is considering either becoming a licensed professional or going on to doctoral programs.

Kramer, a 2014 graduate of Butler Area Senior High School, is the daughter of Tom Kramer and the late June Kramer, of Butler, Pa.

Wiegmann is an accounting and business administration-finance major. He is the president of both the Thiel College Student Government Association and the Greenville Area Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Lambda Sigma national honor society, the Thiel Tomcat Marching Pride, the Ultimate Frisbee Club and the Cycling Club. He also served as a student representative on the Thiel 2021: Student Success Strategic Planning Committee for the College.

“I really enjoyed my time at Thiel, it has allowed me to learn and mature holistically,” Wiegmann said. “Additionally, Thiel has given me all of the tools I need for present and future success professionally and personally.”

Following graduation, he will be an audit associate at the accounting firm Grossman Yanak & Ford in Pittsburgh. He received the job after interning with them last summer.

Wiegmann, a 2013 graduate of Peters Township High School, is the son of David and Anne Marie Wiegmann, of McMurray, Pa.

The Student of the Month is awarded to seniors. It is among the most prestigious student awards at Thiel College, with only about six students each semester earning the honor.
