GREENVILLE, Pa.—Students enrolled at Thiel College can earn their undergraduate and law degrees in just six years through a new agreement between Thiel College and Duquesne University School of Law signed recently.

Students are eligible to participate in the program beginning this academic year. After three years of study at Thiel College, qualified students are guaranteed admission to the Duquesne University School of Law for completion of the Juris Doctorate degree. Students will receive a bachelor’s degree from Thiel College after their first year at Duquesne and will be awarded a J.D. after two more years of study at Duquesne.

“Thiel is fortunate to have among its most active alumni men and women who enjoy thriving careers in the legal profession and return to campus regularly to speak to our students about their passion for the law,” Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Lynn Franken, Ph.D., said. “This agreement with Duquesne School of Law will allow us to provide a strong foundation for even more students who aspire to careers in the law.”

The first two years of the program will be open to all students. In the third year, the early admission program will be open only to those applicants who enter as first-year students and complete all three years of their undergraduate work.

“I’m thrilled that we have established this agreement with The Duquesne University School of Law, which is a nationally-ranked and highly-esteemed program,” Vice President for Enrollment Management Stephen Lazowski said. “In addition to being a wonderful opportunity for our current students, it is also an excellent recruitment tool to attract first-year students who want to earn their bachelor degree from Thiel College and a Juris Doctorate degree from Duquesne.”
