GREENVILLE, Pa.—President Susan Traverso, Ph.D., and Director of Athletics Amy Schafer announced Wednesday the hiring of Sam Bauman as the head football coach at Thiel College.
“It’s with great enthusiasm that we welcome coach Sam Bauman to the College,” Traverso said. “He brings impressive leadership experience to his new role leading Tomcat football and is deeply committed to the success of student-athletes at Thiel.”
Bauman was the linebackers coach at the College of Wooster since 2013. He served as the team’s defensive coordinator the past seven seasons and was the special teams coordinator in 2013 and 2014.
“I am very excited to be named the next head football coach at Thiel College,” Bauman said. “I look forward to getting to know the players better and begin to work with them on building a successful football program here. I can’t thank President Traverso and Director of Athletics Amy Schafer enough for giving me this opportunity.”
