GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Artist Justus Cotterill will display his new work, “Emotional Rescue,” at Thiel College’s Weyers-Sampson Gallery through Oct. 18.

His exhibition opens with a gallery talk at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Cotterill said he was inspired to create these works when he was a child floating in a hotel pool. “Emotional Rescue” was playing at the time which led to the title of the exhibition.

Cotterill teaches photography and printmaking at Edinboro University and has previously taught both 2D and 3D design in foundations. He served as director of the Edinboro’s art gallery from 2014–2017. He maintains an ongoing studio practice based in Erie, Pa., and exhibits his work both regionally and nationally.

Exhibits at Weyers-Sampson Gallery are free and open to the public.

Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays: 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

For appointments or more information, contact Professor of Art and Thiel College Curator of Art Sean McConnor at 724-589-2095.

“We are excited about the gallery’s extended fall hours on Tuesday and Thursday,” McConnor said. “We hope this will provide more opportunity for interested guests to visit the gallery.”
