The choral group ILLUMINARE will be performing at Holy Trinity at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 4, and presenting "Shall We Gather," a concert of a cappella sacred choral music
The concert will include chant as well as works by Palestrina, Allegri, Poulenc, Jenkins, Tavener, Todd and others.
A freewill offering will be received to benefit the ensemble.
ILLUMINARE was formed in 2007 (under its former name, The Salem Youth Chorus) to give teen and collegiate age singers the opportunity to experience and perform great sacred choral literature. Over the span of ten years, the ensemble attracted singers outside of that age bracket. The ensemble was rechristened in 2017 as ILLUMINARE. Translated from Latin, the verb, illuminare, means to light or to enlighten.
ILLUMINARE has performed at Cathedrals and churches in the Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The ensemble has twice sung Choral Evensong at The Washington National Cathedral in DC. Likewise for several years, ILLUMINARE has made guest appearances for Choral Evensong at Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Cleveland. The group has been a guest choir since 2010 for the annual Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Youngstown. In 2010, the group traveled to Cathedrals in England, Ireland and Wales for concerts and Choral Evensong.

From The Thiel Fund
Dear Colleagues,
June 30 marks the end of the fiscal year for the College. In College Advancement, we are pushing to end the fiscal year on a strong note, especially with the Thiel Fund. As you know, gifts to the Thiel Fund play a vital role in supporting and strengthening the opportunities for our students within: academics, athletics, theatre and music programs, and all other areas. All gifts to the Thiel Fund are appreciated and needed.
If you have supported the Thiel Fund this fiscal year (Match Day counts), thank you! If you have not yet supported the Thiel Fund this fiscal year, I ask that you please consider a gift. Faculty and staff participation is critical, and is a way to show your belief in the Thiel mission. Giving options include online: https://www.thiel.edu/giving, cash, check to the Thiel Fund, or payroll deduction. To sign up for payroll deduction, please contact me for assistance. If you would like to give with a check or cash, my office is on the second floor of Roth Hall.
