GREENVILLE, Pa.—Twelve students from a variety of majors were selected to be the 2018-2019 Thiel College Pedas Fellows.

This year’s Pedas Fellows group comprises members from each class including a number of first-year students. Collectively, the Fellows support the needs of their peers, serve as teaching assistants for Presentational Literacy classes and facilitate a number of communication programming events. This year, Fellows will lead and collaborate for events that include guest speakers, film screenings, interactive technology exhibits and cross-institutional student film exhibitions.

“I’m excited to work with the fellows this year, the students have brought forward some really great ideas for screenings, workshops and other programming for the rest of the year,” Assistant Professor of Communication Ross Nugent said. “A central focus of the Fellow program is for students to take leadership roles in the event programming and to tailor the resources we have to engage the student body in new ways.”

The Pedas Fellows’ role is to assist other students with media and computer hardware and software in the James Pedas Communication Center; aid students with other communication skills and processes, such as preparing presentations; and support courses across campus with communication needs such as video recording.
