GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has secured clinical site opportunities for its students at a variety of respected medical and healthcare facilities across western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.
These collaborations involve prestigious institutions such as Meadville Medical Center, St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, and UPMC Horizon. The agreement also extends to Bon Secours Health System and several Mercy Health sites, including St. Elizabeth hospitals located in Boardman, Warren, and Youngstown. With these clinical site partnerships, Thiel College nursing students gain valuable real-world experience in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and specialized care facilities. Working alongside experienced medical professionals allows students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings, improving their skills and preparing them for successful nursing careers.
In addition to these clinical opportunities, Thiel College's nursing program boasts a state-of-the-art simulation lab. This facility is designed to provide students with a safe and controlled environment where they can practice and hone their clinical skills. The simulation lab includes advanced medical equipment and realistic patient scenarios, allowing students to gain confidence and competence before transitioning to actual patient care. Not to mention a unique aspect of the simulation experience is the "Sim Family," a series of simulations where students care for multiple members of the same family, providing continuity and depth to their training.
Thiel College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program received initial approval from the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing in December 2024, affirming that it meets the Board's rigorous standards for nursing education. This approval allows graduates to take the licensure examination, ensuring they are well-prepared to enter the nursing profession. Furthermore, the program has received national accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, demonstrating its commitment to excellence in nursing education.
The Thiel College Department of Nursing is dedicated to public health, aiming to produce competent, diverse professional nurse leaders through education, scholarship, and evidence-based practice models.
