GREENVILLE, Pa.—Dozens of Thiel College employees and students joined community members, sexual assault survivors and AWARE personnel as the campus hosted the annual Take Back the Night event on Friday, April 26.
The event was featured on the front page of Saturday’s Greenville Record-Argus.
Thiel College senior Emma Galiardi ’24 is an intern for AWARE and helped organize the event. Mercer County AWARE is dedicated to eliminating sexual assault and domestic violence.
The group walked from the heart of the Thiel campus to a local house that serves as a shelter for
women and men escaping sexual assault and domestic violence.
“Together, we’re walking for all past victims, for all future victims, all current victims,” Galiardi told the Argus.
Mercer County AWARE Inc. is also the local philanthropy for the Thiel College chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Each year the fraternity collects donations for AWARE with their Walk A Mile in Her Shoes event.
