Thiel College seniors present research at Pennsylvania Capitol during research conference

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College students Anthony Baileys ’24 and Paige Long ’24 traveled to Harrisburg, Pa. recently to present their undergraduate research during the Undergraduate Research at the Capitol-PA Poster Conference.

The Undergraduate Research at the Capitol - Pennsylvania Poster Conference is an educational event that allows undergraduate students enrolled in Pennsylvania’s colleges and universities to showcase their research talents to the Commonwealth’s key decision-makers. The conference was March 19. The conference encourages students to present on all fields of research. During this event, participants share their experiences and ideas with their counterparts from other schools and enlighten state legislators on topics that are important to society.

Baileys, of Dayton, Pa., is a biology major and a 2020 graduate of Redbank Valley H.S. He presented his research on the “Impact of Maternal Feed on Piglet Health” during the conference.

Long, of Huntingdon, Pa., is a psychology and neuroscience double major and a 2020 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School. She presented her research on “The Influence of Stigma against PWID (people who inject drugs) on Public Perceptions of Harm Reduction Policy in Pennsylvania, U.S.” during the conference.
