Thiel College recognized as a Military Spouse Friendly institution by Military Friendly®

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College, already recognized as the top Military Friendly® private college in the nation, was recently singled out as a Military Spouse Friendly School in the private college category.

Thiel College was ranked third as a military spouse friendly college for the 2023-24 academic year. Since 2009, the Military Spouse Friendly® Schools list has been a reliable resource for military spouses and has set a standard for higher education institutions to provide the best post-secondary education experiences for spouses of service members.

The list is created using data sources from federal agencies and proprietary survey information from participating organizations to create a comprehensive guide for military spouses looking to further their education.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey responses and government/agency public data sources within a logic-based assessment. An institution’s ability to meet thresholds for retention, graduation, job placement, repayment, persistence, and loan default rates for all students and specifically, for student veterans were among the factors considered for the rankings.

Military Friendly® breaks institutions into 11 categories: graduate schools; large community colleges; large public institutions; non-traditional; online/vocational; private not offering doctorate; private offering doctorate; small community college, small public, Tier 1 research; and Tier 2 research.

The announcement coincides with this week’s schedule of Veterans Day events at the College. U.S. Navy Captain, chaplain and alumnus Brian Stamm ’87 will lead a special online Common Hour presentation at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 to share his experiences as a veteran. On Saturday, the College will honor local, alumni, employee and student veterans at halftime of the football game against Grove City College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
