Thiel College marketing materials for football team earns pair of awards

GREENVILLE, Pa.—The Thiel College Office of Communications and Marketing had its collaborative project with the Department of Athletics earn awards from communications and marketing professional groups.

The Educational Advertising Awards recognized the College’s brochure for the football team with a gold award. The College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals awarded the same brochure with a bronze in the athletic communication category.

More than 2,350 entries were submitted from 1,000-plus colleges, universities and secondary schools from 50 states and several foreign countries for the Educational Advertising Awards, while CUPRAP reviewed 450 entries from colleges, universities, agencies, and providers of private, specialized and secondary education.

Judges for the Educational Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report. while CUPRAP’s panel included experts in the field of communications and included designers, writers, educators, corporate executives and media professionals.

Higher Education Marketing Report has been the nation’s leading marketing publication for higher education marketing professionals, for thirty-five years; read by thousands of higher education marketing professionals.

CUPRAP is a volunteer organization of communications professionals from colleges, universities and independent schools dedicated to advancing the understanding of higher education and enhancing the professional development of its members. CUPRAP members work in public relations, media relations, marketing, publications, sports information, web and graphic design, social media and more. Members come from private and public colleges and universities, junior colleges, community colleges, independent schools, as well as other organizations involved in higher education. Founded in Pennsylvania in 1980 as one of the nation’s few statewide organizations, CUPRAP members now come from many states. Today, CUPRAP has more than 320 members from over 100 institutions.
