GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College is hosting a summer sports camp for children in grades 2—8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 5—9, 2021 at Alumni Stadium.

Men’s soccer coach Zack Walters is the camp director and Dylan Lasher ’15 is the co-director. The daily program features a variety of recreational activities and sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, flag football, soccer, track and field as well as many others. The emphasis of the camp is to have fun, Walters said. “Our program promotes sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork and boosting confidence while introducing campers to fun activities,” Walters said. “Our experienced coaching staff will continually offer a helping hand to give campers the confidence they need to enjoy and have fun in all activities.”

The camp costs $150. During the camp, students will get a variety of lunches throughout the week provided by the College and each child will receive a t-shirt.

“This will be a great way for kids to be able to get out and be social again after being stuck inside due to the Covid situation,” Walters said. “Along with being able to get outside, it will be a great way to get kids open to trying new sports and having a fun time while doing it.”

Lasher was appointed the men’s volleyball coach in December of 2020.

Walters served as Thiel’s assistant soccer coach in 2019 before taking over the head coaching role prior to the 2020-2021 season. Walters also has a master’s degree in general education.
