GREENVILLE, Pa.—The Thiel College cheer team received the highest score and took first place at the Spirit Against Cancer Competition, hosted by Penn State Behrend on Saturday, Feb. 11.
With a score of 92.68, Thiel beat both Penn West Edinboro and Penn State Behrend in the Spirit Rally division of the competition. The Tomcats are preparing for a return trip to the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Nationals that will be held in Daytona Beach, Fla. from April 4 to 8. They finished second in the nation in their division last year.
The Tomcats, led by head coach Randall Burnett, M.A. ’22 and assistant coach Maddy Neely ’22, MBA’23, will continue their preparations for NCA Nationals on March 25 at the Road to Daytona Showcase, hosted by Gannon University.
