GREENVILLE, Pa.—This year’s Presidents’ Athletic Conference Football Media Day will be held Tuesday, August 3 in Latrobe, Pa.

The media day will take place at Saint Vincent College for the 14th-straight year. The event serves as the conference’s kickoff to the upcoming football season, with each of the conference’s 10 head coaches and player representatives addressing the media and previewing the 2021 season.

Following a brief welcome by PAC Commissioner Joe Onderko, Hugh Ringer (2021) and Ken Wunderley (2020) will be honored as recipients of the Dow Carnahan Media Award.

Carnahan, a longtime supporter and friend of the PAC, passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2016. The award is presented annually to a distinguished member of the media or on-campus representative for his or her commendable service while covering and promoting the conference’s student-athletes, coaches, and programs.

Affectionately known as “The Voice of the Tomcats,” Ringer has served as Thiel’s play-by-play announcer on its football broadcasts since the 2004 season when the college began its partnership with News Talk 790 AM WPIC, a Cumulus station, to deliver multi-platform radio broadcasts. He and color commentator Don Achenbach ’77 will be entering their 13th season calling Thiel football games this fall.
