Nineteen Thiel College students chosen for peer mentoring team for first-year students

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Nineteen Thiel College students will aid the College’s first-year students transition to college life as Peer Mentors for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The students primarily serve as mentors and guides for first-year students. Some of their roles include assisting in teaching an introductory course, aiding their fellow students in creating a class schedule, serving as a liaison with faculty members, and informing students of and encouraging them to attend campus events.
The program is in its sixth year.
The new 2022-2023 academic year Peer Mentors are:
- Devyn Bossard ’24, of Townville, Pa., is a math major with secondary education certification and a 2020 Maplewood High School graduate.
- Evan Cessna ’25, of Kittanning, Pa., is a health systems major and a 2021 West Shamokin Junior-Senior High School graduate.
- Brianne Coatsworth ’24, of Washington, Pa., is a criminal justice and psychology double major and a 2020 Trinity High School graduate.
- Emma Galiardi ’24, of Verona, Pa., is a sociology and criminal justice double major and a 2020 Riverview High School graduate.
- Kylie Gardner ’24, of Warren, Ohio, is an early childhood education/special education major and a 2020 Champion High School graduate.
- Emily Irons ’24, of Franklin, Pa., is an early childhood education/special education major and a 2020 Franklin High School graduate.
- Grace Jones (alternate) ’25, of Clark Mills, Pa., is a pre-physician assistant major and a 2021 Commodore Perry High School graduate.
- Hannah Jones ’24, of Clark Mills, Pa., is a pre-physician assistant major and a 2020 Commodore Perry High School graduate.
- Nielah Jones ’23, of Catonsville, Md., is a health systems major and a 2019 Catholic High School graduate.
- Sarahy López ’25, of Cranberry Township, Pa., is a biology, health systems, and neuroscience triple major and a 2021 Seneca Valley High School graduate.
- Trinity Merren ’23, of Hyde Park, Mass., is an information systems web development major and a 2018 graduate of Reading Memorial High School.
- Brooke Mottley ’24, of Rock Creek, Ohio, is a communication sciences and disorders major and a 2020 Geneva High School graduate.
- Emily Reed ’25, of Livonia, Mich., is a biology major and a 2021 Winston Churchill High School graduate.
- Seth Riley ’25, of Darlington, Pa., is a pre-nursing major and a 2021 Blackhawk High School graduate.
- Kaitlyn Schmidt ’25, of Pittsburgh, Pa., is a math major with secondary education certification and a 2021 Plum High School graduate.
- Cecelia Shellenberger ’23 (alternate), of Northumberland, Pa., is an early childhood education/special education major and a 2019 Shikellamy High School graduate.
- Hannah Stoughton ’25, of Apollo, Pa., is an English major and a 2021 Apollo-Ridge High School graduate.
- Kylie Vergnola ’24, of Guys Mills, Pa., is a political science and sociology double major and a 2020 Maplewood High School graduate.
- Autumn Wanchick (alternate) ’24, of Aurora, Ohio, is a business administration major and a 2019 graduate of Field High School.
